The bet is placed in sports where two teams or two athletes compete and a draw is possible. It is also used in sports where one team must win, but a draw can occur during regular time. Such sports include basketball and hockey.

How to best play the Draw (X) bet?
A bet on a draw is almost always considered a high-risk wager.
For example, in basketball, the odds for a draw at the end of regular time typically range from 17 to 21. In football, the odds for a draw can also reach between 7 and 10. When evenly matched opponents play, the odds for a draw are around 2.7–3.5.
Win: The “X” bet wins if no winner is determined by the end of regular time.
Loss: The “X” bet loses if either the home or the away team wins during regular time.
Refund: The bet is refunded to the bettor only if the match is canceled or its result is annulled.
