This betting market predicts which team will advance to the next stage of the tournament, regardless of the outcome of each individual match. The “Team 1 to Qualify” bet does not apply to knockout games where the winner is decided in a single match — for instance, games at the Olympic Games, World Cup, or European Championship. In those cases, bettors use the regular “Home Team to Win” market instead.
The home team in a two-legged tie is the one that plays the first leg on its home ground. Such a betting market is common in tournaments like the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the NBA playoffs.
