The term “Break” refers to a type of bet used exclusively in tennis matches. It indicates the number of games won by either the first or second player on their opponent’s serve. In most cases, the “Break” market is offered by bookmakers as a variation of the Individual Total Over bet.
Possible outcomes
When placing a “Break” bet, three outcomes are possible:
Win: The bet wins if the number of games won by the player when returning serve exceeds the line set by the bookmaker.
Loss: The bet loses if the number of breaks made by the player is less than the figure specified by the bookmaker.
Refund: A refund is possible if the number of breaks exactly matches the bookmaker’s line, but only when the bet is placed on a whole number (e.g., “Breaks Over 2.0”). For fractional lines (e.g., 1.5), no refund is provided.
